Shaping a Lighting Community: First Lighting Art Meetup in Riga

On September 16, VGD Riga Showroom welcomed professionals from across Latvia’s lighting industry for a unique event focused on technical exchange, open conversation, and community-building.

Andrejs Dubkovs – lighting designer and scenographer – took the role of moderator, bringing together lighting designers and engineers to spark something bigger: a commitment to cultivate a strong local professional community — a place where designers, engineers, and creatives can speak openly, exchange insights, and connect across disciplines.


  
Participants explored some of the key questions:
In addition to discussion, the event placed strong emphasis on hands-on exploration of the technology. Attendees could experience real-time demos of Ayrton Nando 502 Wash and Veloce Profile fixtures — sparking in-depth dialogue about fixture behavior, color rendering, dimming curves, and integration into diverse stage setups.

Our goal is to provide a trusted space where technical depth meets creative freedom — and where learning is driven by the community itself. A place for inspiration, feedback, and professional growth — together.
